Jiving at Ruby's

Surrey Jive's monthly dance, named after their pin-up logo. A live band, with resident DJ Shakin' Shep playing between sets. It runs every month except August at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall — a big sprung floor, a licensed bar and a large free car park, close to the M25. The dances often sell out, so book ahead.

My Favourite Things – Wartime Remembrance Dance

7.30pm – 11.15pm · Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall

“Lest we Forget” – Remembrance Wartime Dance with My Favourite Things

This has to be one of our most popular dances of the year, and the atmosphere is always fantastic but respectful. We go to great lengths to decorate the hall as a period dance hall, and the props just seem to keep growing every year. So why not get in the spirit and come dressed in 1940’s Allied uniform or civilian dress to add to the authenticity? There will be a prize for best dressed. Who knows, ladies, you may even get to dance with a G.I.! That said, if dressing up is not for you, please don’t worry, just come as you are; it is your company that is important.
